bib sama. is definitely living in the future. Proving to be one of the most talented artists coming out of the UK right now, he's written, produced, mixed and mastered his latest EP, XCHRA. Unafraid to break the boundaries of music, he delves into various genres while staying true to his experimental essence.
Lead single 'BLEED' blasts us back into bib's world through the thrilling and vibrant intro before bib introduces us to his falsetto vocals. He discusses unrequited love, which takes a dark turn as he sings, "I wish you were me / So we could take turns to watch me bleed". The B in 'B.2'
stands for bleed, the sequel of sorts is inspired by Jungle and break beat, with some of the adlibs from the orignal track.
Heavy hitter, 'ICDY' has pounding grime drums and that classic bib sama. braggadocio laced throughout the track as bib masterfully flows throughout the artful chaos. He makes a reference to 'OUT!' from PLATINUS ✧ - 'Spin round dat chick now / Got tired of freaking her out', as the iconic hook on 'OUT!' boasts 'I’m rocking her out / I’m freaking her out'. The hook is quite motivating, the perfect way to get you pumped up in the morning. Synth-heavy 'COMFORT' strikes a perfect balance between melodic singing and space-like synthesisers.
To open your ears to bib sama. is allowing yourself to levitate to another planet for a little while. It's incredible when you think about the fact that he's the only person to touch this EP. He's experimenting more with different vocal styles and techniques on this EP while also showing that his music has no limits, that he can pull from different genres and make it his own.
